Vocation Website Launched
Working in collaboration with many around the province who are directly involved in vocational discernment, we have put together a new and dynamic site to help us connect with each other in this important ministry.
Based on the stages of Ignatius’ life, as featured in the icons by artist Dora Bittau, the new site offers a fresh articulation of the classical method of Ignatian discernment. Vocations – God’s call to us – first comes to our attention in our own experiences and how we take them into prayer. Reflection leads to the desire for understanding through intellectual and social frameworks of growth and praise. Learning and sharing our desires moves us into service of one another and this always provides the possibility for a life-long commitment to a people, city, or congregation. Pouring ourselves out in this way can find us in a place of leadership or ministry in the community where nothing is held back, most especially our desires for the fullness of life.
The dynamic nature of this site will allow us to highlight Jesuits and collaborators working and thriving in particular contexts within this framework. In conjunction with ACTS, the new nwjesuits.info will help us to tell our stories and share our joys as we strive to know and to follow God’s will in our lives and in our service of the greater Northwest.
