Time to Evolve, Room to Grow
~ ACTS Moves to a Monthly, More Collaborative Format

So, who reads ACTS and why?
At first we thought that ACTS would be a clever way of staying in touch with the 4 dozen or so men around the Northwest who are explicitly in various stages of vocational discernment for religious life. And these men continue to receive ACTS (whether they actually read it is another thing altogether).
Once the email ACTS made it online as a blog then the readership took an unexpected turn. Like all things online, there’s no boundary between this region and that – this nation or that nation – the web is a global phenomenon. Through the magic of hosting a website, we’re able to know the location of who reads ACTS and by accessing the Google searches that are being conducted, we have a pretty good idea of why they’re reading it – what they’re looking for.
Besides the expected readers in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland and Spokane, in just the last few days ACTS has been read by people in London, Madrid, Yogyakarta, Bromley, Seoul, Makati, Albuquerque, Tualatin, Jakarta, Ankara, Waibstadt, Quezon City, Heidelberg, New York, Sydney, Heiligkreuzsteinach, & Rome.
Certainly not we expected when we launched ACTS in March of 2008.
With our next ACTS, on July 3rd, we move to a monthly format with a greater pool of contributing writers. There are a number of reason why but at the top of the list is that we feel it’s time to provide a more collaborative communications piece for the men of the Oregon Province. Since articles written today will be Googled and accessed well into the future, it’s important that they be well written and edited.
We’ll continue to move forward with ACTS and we’re excited by the future.
