Archbishop Vlazny to Ordain Seven Priests in PDX Tomorrow
It’s not just the Jesuits having a big year!
“Archbishop John G. Vlazny will ordain seven men as priests for the Archdiocese of Portland on Saturday, June 13 at St. Mary’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The Mass of Ordination will begin at 11:00 a.m. This will be the largest ordination class for the Archdiocese since the early 1970’s. In addition, two other men will be ordained in Argentina. Those being ordained by Archbishop Vlazny are Eric Andersen, Fred Anthony, Mariano Escano, David Jaspers, Theodore Lange, Thomas Layton and Cary Reniva.
Those being ordained in Argentina are Matias C. Perez and Ignacio Llorente. They are members of the Society of St. John, a Society of Apostolic Life. They have both studied at Mount Angel Seminary and have spent time working in parishes in the Archdiocese. They will be ordained on Saturday, July 13 by Bishop Santiago Olivera at Nuestra Señora de los Dolores (Our Lady of Sorrows) Church in the Diocese of Cruz del Eje in the province of Córdoba, Argentina.”

Reniva, born in 1982 in Guinobatan, Albay, Philippines; Ignacio Llorente, born in Seville, Spain in 1978; and Matias Perez Constanzo, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1977.
