The Jesuits begin to study Chinese and they begin to find new apostolic opportunities. Moore and Lennon move to Nanjing to teach at Ricci High School only to return to Shanghai as the countryside becomes less safe. Gonzaga Shanghai opens its doors and Simmons, Lynch, and Phillips study theology at the newly opened Bellarmine College.
