The Field and the Cave, Part VI
Pius Moore takes a trip up the river and visits the Spanish Jesuits. Continuing upstream, Moore gets deep into the interior of the country and discovers the beauty of China’s Taoist traditions. He returns to the US on a fund-raising mission and gets back to China just in time for the start of the war. He is interned in Shanghai and in later repatriated, taking a circuitous voyage around the world.
